Description:
Killzone
2
picks up about two years after the events of the first Killzone. After being
attacked by the Helghast, the ISA decides to take the fight to them. You play the role of Sev,
a battle hardened
veteran of the ISA. Your
goal is to
secure the Helghan capital city of Pyrrhus, capture Scolar Visari, the
Helghast
leader, and hopefully put an end to this long and bloody war.
What
Parents Need to Know:
This
is an M-Rated FPS involving many
types of weapons. There
is a lot of
blood and gore. When
you get shot, your
screen is splattered with blood. Head
shots are accompanied by blood sprays.
Enemies act realistically based on where you shoot them. They do not just fall,
they recoil. This
is also a squad based FPS, so you see
your compatriots being shot and dying right before your eyes.
The
F-word is used frequently along with other swear words.
This
is a straight up shooter. There
is nothing sexual in the game. I
did not notice any sexual innuendo in the
writing, either.
There
is nothing spiritual in this game,
negative or positive.
Personally
I was not a big fan of
Killzone 2, but that is in part because I generally enjoy third person
action
games over first person shooters. The game, however, is put together
very well
and if your child has a PS3 you should not be surprised if your child
asks to
rent or purchase this game. There is a large amount of blood and
language as
mentioned in this review that a parent should take into consideration,
however,
before making a decision on whether Killzone 2 is appropriate for their
child
or not.
