Game Description:
The
Conduit is a first person shooter made specifically for
the Wii in which the player takes on the role of Mr. Ford, a secret
service
agent. Mr. Ford has been recruited by an organization called the Trust
to fight
against an alien invasion known as the Drudge in Washington DC. The
game takes
the player through several linear levels where the player will have to
fight
aliens as well as some human soldiers. There is also a storyline that
involves
a government conspiracy, but the main point of The Conduit is to hold
your
Wii-mote like a gun and fight against the enemies on the screen as you
progress
through each level. In
addition, there
is also a multiplayer mode which includes games like capture the flag,
team
deathmatch and a mode called Bounty Hunter which is a new way to play
free for
all.
Violence:
Like I stated in the
game description, The Conduit is a first person shooter which means the
majority of the game is progressing through a level by killing all the
enemies
that get in your way.
There is not a lot of bad language in The Conduit, but there is some. I played through the entire game and I heard the word hell 2 times and the word damn once. There was also one scene where you can hear someone repeatedly say “Oh my god” as if they were being scared by something.
There is no sexual content in The Conduit.
There is no
spiritual content in The Conduit.
I thought The Conduit was a good first person shooter game for the Wii, but still I felt like I was playing an old PS2 game most of the time. While the game played well for a Wii shooter, I felt bored about 1/3 of the way into the game and it was everything I could do to make myself finish the game. Thankfully I was able to complete the entire game in less than 5 hours (it is not a very long game). In conclusion, I thought The Conduit was appropriately rated “T” and should only be played by teens and older.
